Dr. Jay Calvert promised me that my insurance would be able to cover most of the cost for a tummy tuck. Now after the procedure I get a HUGE bill in the mail from him and my insurance is charged too! Dr. Calvert may be top-notch with his work; however, he was not top-notch for me!

User's recommendation: Use someone else!

He is "top-notch" only in techniques he is comfortable with. He tends to play it safe, even when that means a bigger and riskier surgery. Truly great surgeon is the one that achieves the best result with the least trauma for the patient.

Fraud

Jay Calvert was recently found to have committed the elements of fraud based on a 2014 lawsuit filed in Orange County. The judge already ruled on a motion for summary judgment whereby fraud was shown to be present. Calvert defrauded his partner out of his ownership in MD Insider, Inc , a medical healthcare technology company. The matter will going to trial in 2015 whereby damages will be showcased and ruled upon based upon Calvert's fraud. More to come in the near future. Calvert is no stranger to controversy, in that, he very recently was embroiled in a criminal matter relating to insurance fraud in orange county

The Orange County District Attorney's office (OCDA) is seeking more potential victims of a Newport Beach plastic surgeon accused of performing an unnecessary and harmful medical procedure on a patient so a health insurance company could be over-billed.

Dr. Jay W. Calvert, a popular cosmetic surgeon with offices in Newport Beach and Beverly Hills, could get up to six years and eight months in state prison with a conviction on the charges he faces.

The 45-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 13 at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach on felony medical insurance fraud, manufacturing documents to support a fraudulent bill and perjury under oath.

The OCDA claims a man went to Calvert's Newport Beach office in 2009 for a rhinoplasty (a.k.a. nose job) and specifically stated he did want any other work done. Calvert is accused of not only performing the nose job but also other unnecessary procedures that caused long-term medical damage to the man.

Calvert allegedly did this so he could overbill the patient's health insurance policy, "manufacturing documents to support the fraudulent charges and overbilling [the patient's] insurance in excess of $40,000," according to the OCDA, which further charges the doctor committed perjury while under oath during civil proceedings in August 2010, when the patient sued Calvert.

Now prosecutors fear there may be other victims and ask anyone who believes that could be them to call Supervising District Attorney Investigator Kathy Tomlinson at 714.648.3667.

Sorry about your experience! I too had a very-very bad experience with a rhinoplasty revision 2 years ago with the sme Dr.

My life was nearly ruined by the botched work he did. Functionally and cosmetically he ruined my nose. I couldn't breathe without nose cones for over 3 months. I now have an open roof, a droopy tip, and extremely asymmetrical nostrils.

My alar base reduction yielded very deep, irreprable scars, and I pretty much haven't taken a decent picture since surgery. I wish every day that I could turn back time and never met him. He is a very aggressive business man, but has no finesse as a surgeon. As a cosmetic surgeon, the priority should be perfection and finesse.

After spending way more money than I had, I was left with a multitude of issues that needs fixing.

His staff is wonderful and professional, but I would never send anyone to him. Worse decision of my life to have surgery with him.

Bad reviews are one thing. Suing your own patients for writing them is another.

Dr. Calvert is suing his own patients for writing bad reviews after he badly damaged them. Look up Dr. Calvert on ripoffrpeort.com or the Los Angeles Superior Court Website.

Calvert for any surgery whatsoever should consider what would happen if he does a bad job (and he probably will). He'll do the same thing to you as he's done to them. Heaven help you. There are more victims.

Look up Dr. Calvert's lawsuits in Orange County and Arizona. Dr. Calvert sues everyone.

It's not whether or not you trust reviews. Just do our homework. The truth about Dr. Calvert is everywhere.

Be very, very careful of Dr. Calvert.

Surgery with this Dr. yielded extremely poor function (horrible breathing!!), a slight open roof (making bridge appear wider and crooked), extremely uneven nostrils (I can't photograph from the right side and always turn my head slightly to the left when speaking with people because my right side is BAD)...

and I have deep alar base reduction scars that show up in pictures. Everyone can tell from afar that I had rhinoplasty, and a bad one at that. It's been a very sad last two years since surgery. I really wish I could get my old nose back.

People used to think I was gorgeous. Since surgery, I haven't gotten any such compliments. And I understand.

I wish I could turn back time. I was much happier with my old nose.

You are 100% right. Jay Calvert is a criminal and he is trying so very hard to cover up the truth about his criminal actions.

Attacking his own patients on review sites after he's badly damaged them is, well, sick.

Jay Calvert writes his own fake positive reviews, ruins lives, he sues his own patients for telling the truth about what he's done to them, he threatens to sue websites if they don't remove them, he defrauds insurance and well, we all know about his dangerous drug addiction.

He's destroyed so many lives.

Jay Calvert will get caught. So will his accomplices.

I had a extremely positive experience with Dr Jay Calvert and his Team.

He fixed my Nose which was a difficult revision rhinoplasty.

I am very happy with the result and couldn t be happier.

He is a very nice doctor and knows what he is doing.

I can def recommend him for Plastic surgery. :)
